Yamahana Onsen

Yamahana Onsen in Kushiro City, Hokkaido, was established in 1996 as an agricultural-urban exchange facility by the city government to foster connection between Kushiro's urban population and the surrounding farming communities, offering thermal bathing as a shared meeting point within the formal Kushiro City Agricultural-Urban Exchange Center, popularly known as Yamahana Onsen Riflé. The sulfurous waters draw from the volcanic geology underlying Kushiro's position near the Pacific Ring of Fire's Kuril volcanic arc, providing the hydrogen sulfide mineral intensity typical of Hokkaido's most active volcanic spring zones in a facility designed for community connection rather than resort luxury.
