Qeysariyeh Hammam

The Qeysariyeh Hammam is a Qajar-period historic bathhouse in Sabzevar, Razavi Khorasan Province, northeastern Iran, located on the northern side of Beyhaq Street opposite the Fakhrieh School and registered as national heritage site number 4668 on 11 Dey 1380 in the Iranian solar calendar. Sabzevar is an ancient city in northeastern Khorasan known as Beyhaq in the medieval Islamic period, the birthplace of the mystic poet Hakim Sabzevari, and an important center of philosophy and spiritual learning in the Persian cultural tradition. The Qeysariyeh Hammam, whose name derives from the Persian word for a royal bazaar or covered market arcade, served the commercial population of Sabzevar's central market district as a facility for hygiene and social interaction.
