Vanua Lava Hot Springs

Vanua Lava Hot Springs are natural geothermal springs on Vanua Lava island in the Banks Islands group of northern Vanuatu, one of the most remote island chains in the Pacific, where bicarbonate-rich thermal water surfaces from the volcanic basement of this rarely visited Melanesian island. The springs serve the traditional communities of Vanua Lava, who maintain one of the most intact traditional kastom cultures in Vanuatu, with minimal infrastructure and no paved roads connecting the island to the outside world.
