Sources thermales de Liverpool Land

Liverpool Land Thermal Springs on the Liverpool Land peninsula in eastern Greenland are sulfated geothermal springs in one of the Arctic's most remote and least-visited landscapes, accessible only by boat from the Scoresby Sund fjord system or by expedition ship during the brief summer navigation window. Liverpool Land's geology is dominated by ancient Precambrian metamorphic rocks and younger volcanic intrusions associated with the opening of the North Atlantic Ocean, and the geothermal springs reflect this complex geological heritage in an environment of extraordinary Arctic wilderness quality. The surrounding landscape of glaciers, polar bears, musk oxen, and Arctic foxes in a region that receives fewer than a thousand visitors annually ensures that Liverpool Land's thermal springs remain among the world's most genuinely pristine and inaccessible natural thermal sites.
