Lubungu Hot Springs is a natural geothermal site in central Zambia near the Kafue River, where chloride-rich hot spring water surfaces from the Zambian basement in the miombo woodland landscape of one of Zambia's most productive wildlife corridors. The springs, situated within the broader Kafue ecosystem — home to Kafue National Park, one of Africa's largest protected areas — are used by local communities for bathing and therapeutic purposes. The surrounding landscape of the Kafue basin, with its exceptional wildlife including wild dog, cheetah, and vast herds of blue wildebeest, provides one of Central Africa's most biodiverse settings for a geothermal site.
