Baoshan Hot Springs

Baoshan Hot Springs are geothermal springs in Baoshan city in western Yunnan Province, China, situated in the Nu River Valley region of the Three Parallel Rivers UNESCO World Heritage Site — one of the world's most geologically dramatic landscapes where the Mekong, Yangtze, and Salween rivers run in parallel through deep gorges carved through the Hengduan Mountains. The bicarbonate thermal waters here emerge from the intense tectonic and volcanic activity of this geologically active zone where the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates continue their collision, producing some of China's most powerful geothermal fields.
