Ba Yan Ye Xi Wenquan is located in Beitou, a district of Taipei famed for its hot springs. Sulfurous water, around 40°C, feeds an indoor bath, an outdoor pool and a sauna.

Insider tip — Situated in Beitou District at the northern edge of Taipei, this spring taps the same volcanic hydrothermal system as the famous Beitou hot spring area, fed by Tatun Volcano's geothermal field. The strongly sulfurous water, locally called green sulfur spring (seishitsu), is rare worldwide and gives the water a jade-green tint at cooler temperatures. The urban setting within Taiwan's capital makes it easily accessible by MRT. Soak time should be limited to 15-20 minutes due to the high mineral concentration.
