Terme Bad Langensalza

Bad Langensalza is a Thuringian mineral spa built around magnesium-rich waters in the rolling countryside of central Germany, where half-timbered market squares and Baroque gardens have been maintained in exceptional condition thanks to careful post-reunification restoration. The town lies thirty kilometres from Eisenach, birthplace of Johann Sebastian Bach in 1685 and site of the Wartburg castle where Martin Luther translated the New Testament into German in 1521, giving the surrounding landscape an unusually dense layer of cultural and religious significance. The magnesium waters of Bad Langensalza have been prescribed for cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, and nervous system conditions since the seventeenth century, and the town today combines medical spa traditions with the heritage tourism of the Bach-Luther corridor.
