Curihaus Bad Mergentheim is a thermal bathing facility set in the historic spa town of Bad Mergentheim in the Tauber valley of Baden-Württemberg, whose mineral springs were rediscovered in 1826 by a local shepherd and rapidly developed into one of Germany's leading salt-water spa resorts. The town is most famous as the seat of the Teutonic Knights, the crusading military order that established their Grand Master's residence in Mergentheim Castle in 1525 after their Prussian territories were secularized, making the town the spiritual and administrative center of this ancient Catholic order for three centuries until Napoleon dissolved it in 1809.
