Baños de Rio Tobia

Baños de Río Tobía is a small municipality in the Rioja Alta comarca of La Rioja, Spain, set in the Nájera River valley at the foot of the Sierra de la Demanda, on one of the historic branches of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route that traversed the wine country of medieval Rioja. The bicarbonate mineral springs of the Tobía area reflect the geological resources of the Iberian Range's northern edge, where Mesozoic sedimentary formations and tectonic fractures allow mineralised groundwater to reach the surface. The surrounding La Rioja landscape — world-famous for its Tempranillo wines, historic monasteries including San Millán de la Cogolla (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the medieval pilgrim roads — provides one of Spain's richest cultural and viticultural contexts for a thermal heritage experience.
