Pozas Termales de Arnedillo is a celebrated natural thermal bathing site in Arnedillo, a village in La Rioja, Spain, where sulphurous spring water at around 54 degrees Celsius flows into open-air rock pools beside the Cidacos River. The site has attracted bathers for centuries, combining the therapeutic warmth and mineral richness of the spring water with the dramatic beauty of the river gorge and the arid red-rock landscape of the Rioja interior. Arnedillo's thermal pools are among the most beloved natural bathing experiences in northern Spain.

Insider tip — The thermal pools of Arnedillo lie at the foot of the dramatic limestone canyon of the Cidacos river in La Rioja, where sulfurous waters at around 52°C (cooled in the pools to bathing temperature) emerge from a fault in the Mesozoic limestone escarpment. The site has been used since Roman times and the Balneario de Arnedillo — one of Spain's oldest continuously operating thermal establishments — stands at the canyon base. The natural outdoor rock pools along the riverbank are freely accessible and particularly popular among climbers who use the nearby limestone walls. The surrounding canyon scenery of red rock and circling vultures is spectacular.
