Mondariz Balneario

Mondariz-Balneario is a celebrated spa village in Pontevedra Province, Galicia, built entirely around the extraordinary bicarbonate sodium mineral springs discovered in 1872 that became one of the most fashionable resorts of Spain's Belle Époque. The waters of Mondariz were served at royal tables across Europe, bottled under the Fuente del Val and Gándara brands that remain in commercial production today. The grand late-19th-century spa hotel and pavilion buildings, together with the elegant thermal park, give Mondariz a dignified resort atmosphere that recalls the golden age of European thermal tourism.
