Relaxing — deep, immediate muscle release.
Rich in active gases or metals — a strong mineral character.
Soft water — natural, classic buoyancy.
Balneario Alhama de Murcia is a venerable thermal establishment in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, situated at the foot of the Sierra Espuña natural park in the Region of Murcia. The sulphurous thermal waters have been in continuous use since Roman times — substantial ruins of Roman bath structures have been excavated near the modern facilities — and were particularly valued during the Moorish period when the town's Arabic name 'Al-hama', meaning hot spring, was coined. The contemporary spa complex has been modernised while preserving its connection to more than two millennia of bathing heritage. The spring waters, rich in hydrogen sulphide, have long drawn bathers seeking relief from everyday tensions and the restorative warmth of the waters, set in a landscape of citrus groves and limestone sierra.
