Marmolejo is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of Jaén, in the autonomous community of Andalusia. The municipal territory, belonging to the comarca of the Campiña de Jaén, has a population of 6,412 inhabitants. It borders the Jaén municipalities of Andújar, Arjonilla, Arjona and Lopera, and the Córdoba municipality of Montoro. Through its territory flow the rivers Guadalquivir — including the Marmolejo reservoir —, Jándula, La Cabrera and Yeguas — with the reservoir of the same name. The municipality comprises the population centres of Marmolejo — the municipal capital — and the settlement of San Julián.
