Deep in the Val d'Aran, eight kilometres along the Aiguamòg river, the Banhs de Tredòs occupy a site used since Roman times — a bust of the goddess Isis found here attests to it. For centuries reduced to a simple shelter visited under medical prescription, the baths only got their first building in 1885, expanded with an upper floor in 1904 and a chapel in 1908.
Closed from 1944 until the mid-1990s, the establishment has since reopened in its mountain setting, fed by sulphurous, sodic water rich in sulfur and sulfobacteria. Listed in Catalonia's inventory of architectural heritage, the site combines Pyrenean history with a thermal stay beside the Aiguamòg.
