Balneario de Carabaña

Balneario de Carabaña is a renowned Spanish spa southeast of Madrid in the Alcarria region of Castilla-La Mancha, whose distinctive mineral waters — exceptionally rich in magnesium, sodium, and sulfate — have been famous since at least the Roman period, making Carabaña one of the most historically significant mineral spring destinations in all of Spain. The waters of Carabaña became so celebrated in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries that they were bottled and distributed nationally as a renowned mineral product — a level of recognition rare among even Spain's most distinguished thermal springs. Today the balneario continues its tradition of mineral water bathing within a long thermal heritage, set in the dramatic eroded limestone landscape of the Alcarria plateau, combining centuries of heritage with contemporary spa wellness in one of the most geologically distinctive and culturally ancient regions of central Spain.
