In the Tetuán district at the heart of Madrid, Balneario Sol y Agua opened in 2001 as one of the Spanish capital's first urban spas, before undergoing a full renovation in 2005 that gave it its current name and identity. Just a short walk from the Tetuán metro station, the venue built its reputation around hydrotherapy and body treatments right in the city center.
The water circuit combines a jet hydromassage pool, jacuzzi, steam bath or hammam, Finnish sauna, contrast showers and a relaxation room, rounded out by a wide range of massages and beauty treatments. Far from the natural springs of Spain's historic bathing resorts, Sol y Agua represents another side of Spanish spa culture: the urban spa designed as an accessible everyday escape in the middle of Madrid.
