Insider tip — Bodrum, the ancient Halicarnassus, is the birthplace of Herodotus — the father of history — and home to the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The historic Bardakçı Hamam continues a bathing tradition in a city that was ancient Caria's most important coastal metropolis, where Persian, Greek, and Hellenistic civilizations left layers of extraordinary cultural heritage above the turquoise Aegean waters.
