Bizovačke Toplice in Bizovac, Osijek-Baranja County, eastern Croatia, sits atop one of the most unexpected thermal water discoveries in Central Europe — a chloride and sodium-rich geothermal spring found during petroleum exploration in the 1970s, flowing at 90°C from deep Pannonian Basin sedimentary formations at over 1,400 metres depth.
