Larijan Hot Springs (General Hot Spring) near Amol in Iran's Mazandaran Province, approximately 73 kilometres south of Amol near Mount Damavand — the highest peak in the Middle East and Iran's most iconic natural landmark — are oligomineral and geothermal springs associated with the vast hydrothermal system of the Damavand volcanic complex, the world's highest stratovolcano and a dormant but geothermally active mountain with significant fumarole activity. The springs are used by local communities in the Haraz River valley as therapeutic bathing resources, and their proximity to Damavand makes them an integral part of the geothermal landscape surrounding one of the world's great volcanic peaks. The Haraz valley road connecting Tehran to the Caspian coast passes through this geothermal zone, making Larijan's springs accessible to millions of Iranians travelling between the capital and the sea in a scenic mountain corridor.
