Geosea Akureyri is a geothermal seawater bathing facility perched above the Eyjafjordur fjord near Akureyri, the capital of northern Iceland, where oligomineral geothermal ocean water is pumped to clifftop infinity pools overlooking the longest fjord in Iceland — 60 kilometres of mountain-framed Arctic water visible from the bathing terrace. In winter, the northern lights (aurora borealis) frequently dance above the pools as guests bathe in 38-40 degree Celsius water while the air temperature falls to minus 15, creating one of the most dramatically sensory thermal experiences available anywhere on Earth. Akureyri, often called the Capital of the North, offers whale watching, puffin colonies, midnight sun, and northern lights — all accessible from the geothermal baths that edge the Eyjafjordur fjord.
