Pozze di Vinadio

Pozze di Vinadio are natural sulphurous thermal pools associated with the Terme di Vinadio complex in the Stura di Demonte valley of the Maritime Alps in Cuneo province, Piedmont, where one of Italy's highest-altitude thermal spa resorts draws on sulphurous spring water at around 29°C emerging from the crystalline basement of the Alps. The Terme di Vinadio, at nearly 1,300 metres elevation in a spectacular alpine valley near the French border, combine therapeutic sulphurous bathing with extraordinary mountain scenery in one of the highest permanently operating thermal spas in Italy. The surrounding Cuneo Alps, with their remarkable Occitan cultural heritage, the Col de Larche mountain pass, and the extraordinary Maritime Alps landscape of the Parco Alpi Marittime, provide a setting of exceptional alpine grandeur.
