Fukusaki Onsen

Fukusaki Onsen is a community thermal facility in the small town of Fukusaki in the Harima plain of western Hyogo Prefecture, celebrated as the birthplace of Kunio Yanagita (1875–1962), the pioneering founder of Japanese folklore studies (minzokugaku) whose lifelong documentation of rural customs, folktales, and village traditions created the foundation of Japan's most important social anthropological tradition.
