Shiota Onsen is a historic hot spring in the Yumesaki area of Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, known for its long reputation as a yakuyu traditional bath and comprising two distinct facilities: the long-established Yukamoto Ueyama Ryokan which maintains the original spring tradition, and the newer Himeji Yumesaki River Onsen Yume-no-I established in 2006 after boring for a new spring source in the Himeji Yumesaki River area. Himeji City is internationally famous for the magnificent Himeji Castle, the largest and finest example of Japanese feudal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, whose white-plastered towers overlook the city from a commanding hilltop, making Himeji one of the most visited historic sites in all of Japan.
