Ichimiya Onsen Ishikawa

Ichimiya Onsen Ishikawa occupies the Hakusan area near the Hakusan Hime Shrine — the principal sanctuary of the Hakusan faith complex and headquarters of the 2,700 Hakusan shrines spread across Japan — whose magnificent forested approach, ancient cedar trees, and mountain backdrop create one of Ishikawa Prefecture's most spiritually resonant religious landscapes. The Ichimiya (First Shrine) designation given to this sanctuary reflects its historical status as the most important shrine in the former Kaga Province, a distinction that placed it at the center of the domain's religious and political life during the centuries when the Maeda clan governed the Kaga domain from Kanazawa Castle.
