Ara Onsen Niigata

Ara Onsen Niigata serves the Arakawa area of northern Niigata Prefecture — now absorbed into the expanded Murakami City — where the Arakawa River descends from the Iide mountain range through forests of exceptional ecological quality before entering the Murakami basin, creating a highland approach to the Japan Sea coast that has historically served as both a natural barrier and a route for trade and cultural exchange between the coastal Echigo region and the highland communities of the Yamagata interior.
