Fukuji Onsen

Fukuji Onsen in Takayama city, Gifu Prefecture, sits within the Okuhida volcanic onsen region at the deepest point of the Hida River valley before it ascends toward the glaciated peaks of the Northern Alps, in one of Japan's least-developed and most traditionally preserved onsen districts where small-scale inns maintain bathing traditions unchanged for generations.
