Barskaun Hot Springs

Barskaun Hot Springs emerge in the magnificent Jeti-Oguz district of Kyrgyzstan's Issyk-Kul region, named for the iconic Seven Bulls red sandstone formations whose vivid crimson cliffs rise dramatically above the Barskaun gorge — one of Central Asia's most photographed natural landscapes. The springs flow within reach of the Barskaun waterfall complex, a series of cascades that descend through forested gorges before the terrain opens onto the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, one of the world's largest and deepest mountain lakes, remarkable for remaining unfrozen year-round despite sitting at 1,607 meters elevation. Bathing in these geothermal waters against a backdrop of red sandstone, waterfalls, and a world-class mountain lake creates an experience of rare natural grandeur in the heart of the Tian Shan.
