Oasis Chundzha is a thermal recreational complex in the Chundzha region of southeastern Kazakhstan, where chloride-rich springs are channelled into pool and spa facilities within a resort designed to offer an oasis of water and greenery in the semi-arid Ili River valley landscape. The facility reflects the importance of water in Central Asian culture — historically a symbol of life and prosperity in the steppe and desert zones of the Silk Road — transforming the natural mineral springs into a modern leisure destination for Almaty-region residents. Chloride springs at the complex are used for skin, joint, and circulatory therapies consistent with the saline balneological tradition long practised in the Kazakh steppe belt.
