Balneario Los Azufres Michoacán

Balneario Los Azufres is a natural sulphurous hot spring and geothermal site in the Los Azufres volcanic caldera of Michoacán State, one of Mexico's most geothermally active volcanic areas where the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt produces fumaroles, boiling mud pools, geysers, and hot springs in a dramatic high-altitude forest landscape at approximately 3,000 metres elevation. The sulphurous spring waters and volcanic features of Los Azufres — which also hosts one of Mexico's major geothermal electricity plants — provide a raw and dramatic natural hot spring bathing experience amid volcanic pine and fir forests and black volcanic rock formations.
