Kundasang Mineral Springs are located in Kundasang, a cool highland vegetable-growing town at the foot of Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo — the highest peak in Southeast Asia at 4,095 meters and a UNESCO World Heritage Site recognized for its extraordinary concentration of plant diversity, from lowland rainforest to alpine meadow within a single mountain massif. The area is also the site of the Kundasang War Memorial, a moving tribute to the Allied prisoners of war who died during the infamous Sandakan Death Marches of World War II — one of the worst atrocities suffered by Allied POWs in the Pacific theater.
