Tatopani (meaning 'hot water' in Nepali) is one of the most celebrated natural hot spring destinations in Nepal, located at around 1,190 metres in the Kali Gandaki river gorge on the Annapurna Circuit trekking route — the world's deepest gorge, carved between the Annapurna massif and Dhaulagiri, the 8th and 7th highest mountains on Earth. The sulphurous spring pools beside the Kali Gandaki river offer trekkers on the Annapurna Circuit an exceptionally rewarding restorative stop, where aching muscles are soothed by warm mineral water surrounded by the most dramatic Himalayan scenery imaginable. Tatopani's position on one of the world's classic long-distance trekking routes has made it famous among the global trekking community as the quintessential Himalayan hot spring experience.
