Termálfürdő — thermal bath — in Magyarhertelend, Baranya County in southern Hungary, is a community thermal bathing facility in the Zselic hills region where the artesian geothermal waters of the Pannonian Basin provide warm mineral spring bathing in the forested landscape of southern Transdanubia, an area of gentle rolling hills, ancient oak woods, and traditional Swabian and Croatian village settlements that distinguish Baranya County from the flat thermal plain landscapes more typical of the Hungarian Great Plain spa tradition. Magyarhertelend lies within the Zselic Landscape Protected Area, a mosaic of forest, meadow, and agricultural land in the Baranya highlands where natural heritage and traditional rural life have been preserved with particular care, and the thermal bath facility draws on the geothermal resources of the sub-Pannonian sedimentary basin beneath this southern Hungarian hill country. The thermal bathing facility continues the democratic Hungarian tradition of providing geothermal mineral water wellness as a community resource in settlements of all sizes, from the great spa cities of Budapest and Debrecen to the small village fürdők of the Transdanubian hills.
