Minamiaso-mura Onsen Center, also known as Winas, is located in Minamiaso, Kumamoto Prefecture. Its sodium-chloride thermal water reaches around 40°C, with an indoor bath, an outdoor rotenburo bath and a sauna.

Insider tip — 'Winas' at Minamiaso-mura Onsen Center in Minamiaso village, inside the southern rim of the Aso Caldera. Minamiaso was severely damaged by the April 2016 Kumamoto earthquakes (M7.3) — the Aso Bridge collapsed, roads buckled, and the community infrastructure was disrupted for years. The village's onsen center was part of the community's recovery infrastructure, providing a gathering place for residents during the long reconstruction. Bathing here is a quiet act of solidarity with a community that rebuilt itself inside an active volcano's crater.
