Yoshioka Onsenkan; Ichi no Yu

Yoshioka Onsenkan Ichi no Yu — 'Yoshioka Spa Hall First Hot Spring' — is a thermal bathing facility in Tottori city, Tottori prefecture, Japan, in the capital of Japan's least-populated prefecture on the San'in coast, a region of dramatic sea cliff coastlines, ancient sand dune landscapes, the Tottori Sand Dunes (Japan's largest and the only significant sand dune system in Japan), and the hot spring culture of the San'in Kinki National Park area that stretches from Tottori to the Kinosaki and Tango Peninsula. Tottori city itself is associated with the famous manga artist Shigeru Mizuki — creator of Ge Ge Ge no Kitarō — and with the excellent Tottori pears, Matsuba crab, and 20th Century pear varieties that make the prefecture's agricultural produce among the most prized in western Japan despite its small size. The onsen provides simple mineral spring bathing in the distinctive San'in coastal atmosphere, connecting Tottori's visitors and residents to the thermal spring tradition of Japan's western Sea of Japan coast.
