Termas Oyacachi rise within Cayambe-Coca National Park in Ecuador's Napo Province, at over 3,200 metres above sea level on ancestral Kichwa community land. Few thermal destinations anywhere combine altitude, ecological richness, and indigenous cultural stewardship in quite this way — the access track alone, winding through cloud forest and high páramo, signals that something out of the ordinary awaits.
The bicarbonate water flows at a comfortable 36 °C with a mildly alkaline pH of 8, giving it a famously silky quality that coats the skin in a soft mineral film. The community of Oyacachi manages the site directly, maintaining a series of outdoor pools carved from the natural terrain. Bathing here, with the profiles of Cayambe and Reventador volcanoes emerging from cloud on clear mornings, is among the most memorable thermal experiences in Andean South America.
