Aguas Termales de Minas Moqo

Aguas Termales de Minas Moqo is a natural ferruginous hot spring in the Lares area of Calca Province, Cusco Region, Peru, situated in the Sacred Valley highlands at altitude where iron-rich geothermal waters have been used therapeutically by Quechua highland communities as part of the broader Lares District thermal spring network that attracts trekkers on the alternative Lares circuit to Machu Picchu. The springs are integrated into the Lares trekking experience, which takes travellers through authentic highland Quechua villages where handloom weaving using naturally dyed alpaca and sheep wool continues as a living cultural practice largely unchanged in its essentials from Inca-era textile production.
