Rabka-Zdroj is a mountain spa town in the Nowotarski County of Lesser Poland, set in the foothills of the Gorce Mountains at 470 metres altitude, the only spa town in Poland specializing in family thermal wellness — its chloride and iodide-rich brine spring waters are used in inhalation rooms, bathing, and drinking traditions, with a particular focus on gentle programs for children. The chloride and iodine-rich mineral springs of Rabka, discovered in the 19th century, are known for their high mineral concentration, and the town's facilities have welcomed families and young visitors since the interwar period, earning the nickname Rabka the Health Town for Children. The surrounding Gorce mountain landscape, with its meadows of endemic Gorce crocus and the wild highland culture of the Gorals — the Polish mountain people with their distinctive costumes, music, and sheepherding traditions — provides a naturally restful environment of mountain air and natural beauty.
