Terme Rusanda is a saline wellness resort on the shores of Lake Rusanda, a shallow salt lake in the Vojvodina plain near Zrenjanin, whose brine waters and mineral mud have been part of the local bathing tradition since the nineteenth century. Vojvodina and the Banat region surrounding Zrenjanin represent perhaps the most ethnically diverse territory in the Balkans, where Serbs, Hungarians, Romanians, Germans, and Slovaks have coexisted in adjacent villages for centuries, producing a cultural mosaic of languages, cuisines, and folk traditions unique in Europe. The salt lake environment, with its mineral-rich peloid and chlorurated water, creates exceptional conditions for relaxing thermal bathing, and the flat Pannonian landscape surrounding the resort offers a restful contrast to the mountains dominating most Balkan spa destinations.
