Lysekil Havsbad

Lysekil is a small coastal town on the Bohuslan coast of Vastra Gotaland County in western Sweden, set among the iconic pink granite skerries of the Swedish West Coast, where iodine-rich Atlantic waters of the Skagerrak — the connecting sea between the North Sea and the Baltic — have been used in sea bathing and thalassotherapy since the late 19th century. The Lysekil Havsbad facility uses the naturally iodine-rich and mineral-dense seawater of the Gullmarsfjord, one of Sweden's deepest and most ecologically rich fjords, where Atlantic deep-water upwellings bring cold, mineral-rich water directly to the surface. The Bohuslan coast with its smooth pink granite islands polished by Pleistocene glaciers, its grey seal colonies visible from the sea bath platforms, and its smoked lobster and shrimp traditions creates one of the most atmospherically Nordic and wild thalasso destinations in Sweden.
