Non Sawang

Non Sawang, or Bright Highland, is a geothermal mineral spring community in Thailand situated on elevated ground — the non of the name referring to a low plateau or ridge — from which the spring's naturally heated mineral waters emerge and flow down to serve local residents for bathing within a long thermal tradition. The elevated setting of the spring, reflected in the non element of the name, gives the geothermal source an association with the highland geothermal zones of Thailand where tectonic and volcanic activity is most concentrated. The spring at Non Sawang provides the local community with naturally heated mineral-rich water, a geothermal resource embedded in the landscape of the Thai highlands that has supported community life across multiple generations of village life.
