Karahayit Thermal is a geothermal spa near Pamukkale in Denizli Province, Anatolian Turkey, offering distinctive red-mineral hot springs — their striking reddish-orange coloration caused by iron oxide precipitation from the highly mineralized oligomineral waters — just a few kilometers from the world-famous white travertine terraces of Pamukkale (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Roman city of Hierapolis. The thermal waters of Karahayit, emerging at around 60°C from the same geothermal system that created Pamukkale's iconic white calcium travertine formations, are used for outdoor soaking pools with the characteristic reddish mineral bloom that distinguishes them visually from all other thermal springs in the region.
