The Chemka Hot Springs, also known as Kikuletwa, are situated in the Kilimanjaro Region of northern Tanzania, where the dramatic profile of Africa's highest peak defines the horizon and the surrounding landscape shifts between arid savanna and lush riverine greenery. Fed by underground sources filtered through the volcanic geology of the Kilimanjaro massif, the springs feed clear, turquoise-hued pools of exceptional visual clarity, shaded by fig trees and palm fronds.
The water emerges at a gentle 38 °C — comfortably warm without being intense — and carries a balanced pH of 7.3, giving it a clean, soft quality entirely in keeping with its crystalline appearance.
