Truskavets is the most famous spa town in Ukraine, a Carpathian resort city in the Lviv Oblast of western Ukraine, where the legendary Naftusia spring water — unique in the world for containing dissolved organic hydrocarbons (naphthalenes) — has been part of the local mineral water tradition since the 19th century. The diverse mineral springs of Truskavets include chloride brines, sulfate waters, and the unique Naftusia oil-flavoured mineral water, all enjoyed in an extensive sanatorium complex that became one of the most visited resorts in the entire Soviet Union.
