Dakota Hot Springs Colorado is a natural mineral hot spring facility located in Penrose, in Fremont County, Colorado, at the southern edge of the Arkansas River valley between Pueblo and the Royal Gorge — one of America's most dramatic river canyons, where the Arkansas River cuts 300 metres through Precambrian granite in a gorge so narrow that the famous suspension bridge crossing it hovers just above the rushing water below. The bicarbonate mineral waters emerge from the Precambrian basement geology of the Front Range foothills, drawing geothermal heat from the deep Rocky Mountain rock mass, and are appreciated for their soft, pH-balanced mineral bathing, propitious to relaxation and to the comfort of the skin in the dry Colorado climate.
