Set deep in the vast Monitor Valley of central Nevada, Pott's Ranch hot spring takes its name from the ranch founded in the 1870s by William Potts, whose homestead - now a ghost town - still stands nearby. Long reachable only by a rough, multi-mile dirt road requiring a high-clearance vehicle, this remote soak once epitomized the rugged, undeveloped hot springs scattered across rural Nevada.
The site has since passed into private hands: multiple sources agree it is no longer open to the public, and the old wooden soaking platform has since vanished. Its story nonetheless remains emblematic of the springs shaped by the ranching pioneers who settled the valley in the 19th century.
