12 Mile Hot Springs, also known by its Bishop Creek location, is a resort-style thermal facility set along one of Nevada's remote desert routes, where distances are measured by isolation as much as mileage. The site draws silica-rich geothermal water from the volcanic geology that characterizes this stretch of the Great Basin, offering a mineral soaking experience in one of the American West's most spacious and silent landscapes.

The water flows at a comfortable 35 °C with a near-neutral pH of 7.2. The dissolved silica — leached from deep volcanic formations — gives the water a distinctively smooth, almost velvety texture on the skin, a tactile quality that distinguishes silica springs from their mineral counterparts.
