Tram Tau Hotspring Resort is a natural hot spring resort in the remote Tram Tau district of Yen Bai province in Vietnam's northwestern mountains, where bicarbonate-rich geothermal water emerges from the ancient metamorphic basement of the Hoang Lien Son range in a spectacularly wild and underpopulated highland landscape. The resort sits in territory of the H'Mong and Xa Pho ethnic minority communities, whose traditional slash-and-burn cultivation practices and distinctive colourful textiles contribute to the authentic highland atmosphere. The surrounding mountains of the Hoang Lien Son range, rising to over 3,000 metres, provide some of northern Vietnam's most spectacular and least-visited trekking terrain.

Insider tip — In Tổ dân phố 3, enjoy the 35°C bicarbonate water for optimal relaxation.
