Oedo Onsen Monogatari Urayasu Mangekyo was a large urban hot spring theme park in the Hinode district of Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, operated by Oedo Onsen Monogatari Co., Ltd., drawing iodine-bearing mineral waters from below the coastal landfill zone of Urayasu adjacent to the Tokyo Disneyland resort complex, and formerly known as Yueguri Mangekyo before its rebranding. Urayasu City, home to Tokyo Disney Resort, is one of Japan's most extensively developed urban coastal reclamation areas, and this hot spring facility demonstrated that genuine geothermal mineral resources could be tapped even beneath the dense urban fill of the Tokyo Bay coastal zone to provide authentic hot spring bathing to metropolitan residents. The iodine-rich mineral waters extracted from beneath Urayasu provided therapeutically significant bathing in an urban entertainment context, making natural mineral hot spring culture accessible to millions of visitors within the metropolitan Tokyo area without requiring a journey to a traditional mountain or coastal resort.
