Yunohira Onsen is one of five spring areas comprising the Yufuin Onsenkyo in Yufu City, Oita, with a thermal bathing history stretching to the Kamakura period (1185–1333) and documentary evidence of its use confirmed in Muromachi era records—making it one of Oita's most historically documented springs.
